The 2019 film follows Frank and Nancy Teagarten ( Alec Baldwin and Salma Hayek ), a once-wealthy couple who have fallen on hard financial times. To maintain appearances and fund their daughter’s Ivy League education, they spiral into a series of increasingly absurd, alcohol-fueled schemes.
The plot kicks off after the couple drops their daughter off at college, only to return home and find their car being repossessed. Desperate for cash, they host a secret midnight garage sale and accidentally rent out their neighbor's empty house to a registered sex offender, leading to a chaotic domino effect of mistaken identities and run-ins with neighborhood vigilantes and homeless people.
