Use a "big smile" for friendly characters or specific shapes (like an open mouth with visible teeth) for expressions like surprise.
Draw vertical and horizontal lines across the shape to determine where eyes, the nose, and the mouth will sit. Layer the Features: Eyes: Usually simple circles or ovals with small pupils. Noses: Can be funny, large, or simplified ovals.
To go over your final lines and fill in black areas. Paper: Plain white paper or a sketchbook.
