Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the American portions of the film were largely recreated in South Tyrol, Italy . Locations like the Salten plateau and barracks in Merano were used to stand in for Pennsylvania and Stockholm.

Miraculously reunited with his mother in 1947, they emigrate to the United States. They join a Quaker community called Hill of Vision in Pennsylvania. Despite initial struggles to adapt, Mario discovers a transformative passion for science under the guidance of his uncle. Production Details
