The story is set during the events of Fear the Walking Dead Season 2. It follows (Kelsey Scott), a hardened survivor in a bloodstained hazmat suit, who encounters an injured woman named Gabi (Mishel Prada). Gabi convinces Sierra to help her reach a supposed sanctuary—a tunnel at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Upon arrival, they meet Gabi's boyfriend, Colton (Michael Mosley), a border guard who has secured a stocked bunker. Colton betrays Sierra, attempting to kill her to keep the tunnel a secret.
