It commemorates the history of Jerusalem Avenue ( Aleje Jerozolimskie ), which originally led to a Jewish settlement called "New Jerusalem".

It highlights the void left by the absence of the Jewish community and serves as a surreal, alien element in the urban landscape.

Rajkowska is a leading Polish contemporary artist known for socially engaged public works. Joanna Rajkowska - Women Artists - AWARE

The project is centered around the artificial palm tree located at the in central Warsaw. Inauguration: Unveiled on December 12, 2002.
