Driven by curiosity, Alice visits the forbidden Victory Headquarters in the desert. Upon touching the building, she experiences a series of flashes and wakes back up at home, her memories increasingly fractured. The Big Twist

Jack, feeling alienated and wanting a "perfect" traditional life, drugged Alice and uploaded her into the simulation without her consent.

In reality, it is the 21st century. Alice is an overworked surgeon, and Jack is her unemployed, resentful husband.

The story follows (Florence Pugh) and her husband Jack (Harry Styles), who live in Victory , an idyllic, experimental company town in the 1950s. While Jack spends his days working on the top-secret "Victory Project," Alice enjoys a life of luxury with other housewives, under the guidance of the town’s charismatic leader, Frank (Chris Pine). The Core Plot

When Alice confronts Jack, he tries to justify his actions, leading to a violent struggle where Alice kills him. Because dying in the simulation results in death in the real world, Jack dies permanently. Helped by her friend Bunny (who chose to stay in the simulation to be with children she lost in real life), Alice flees to the exit portal at Headquarters. The film ends with Alice touching the portal and the sound of her gasping for air as she wakes up in the real world.

Alice’s perfect life begins to unravel when she notices disturbing inconsistencies:

A neighbor named Margaret experiences a mental breakdown after wandering into the desert, claiming the company "took" her son as punishment for breaking rules.
