Alan Turing -

Alan Turing was a pioneering British mathematician who laid the foundation for modern computing with the "Universal Machine" concept. During World War II, he played a critical role in cracking the German Enigma code at Bletchley Park, significantly shortening the war. Despite his war efforts, he was prosecuted for homosexuality and faced tragic, state-mandated consequences before his death in 1954. Later recognized for his genius, he was posthumously pardoned, and his legacy is honored for his immense contributions to science and technology.
